CanSat

Alphabet-SAT was a five-student team from St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby, BC. The project combined atmospheric sensing and radiation detection in a miniature satellite designed to fit within the dimensions of a soda can.

Mission

Our team’s mission explored whether atmospheric CO₂ levels and background radiation varied together. The design paired a CO₂ sensor with a Geiger-Müller tube and a GK-mini Geiger Kit.

Build

The internal layout was organized around the Geiger-Müller tube, a large component central to the experiment. Components were arranged to allow servicing with minimal disassembly.
